Setup and Use of Windows PostScript® Driver

When creating PostScript files from Windows applications, we recommend that you select the QMS ColorScript 100 Model 10 as the printer driver. This driver should be installed by selecting ADD PRINTERS from the Printers folder within Windows.

Setup the QMS ColorScript 100 Model 10 Printer as follows:

These settings MUST be made in the Control Panel, Printers folder, NOT within your application.

QMS ColorScript 100 Model 10 Printer PROPERTIES:

General: NO CHANGES REQUIRED, Leave AS IS
Details: Print to the following Port:
- File:(create a file on disk)
Paper:
- Letter
- Landscape
- - CLICK Unprintable Area, Set Margins: 0.00" Left, 0.00" Right, 0.00" Top, 0.00" Bottom
Graphics: NO CHANGES REQUIRED, Leave AS IS
Fonts: Always use True Type Fonts
- CLICK Send Fonts As: Outlines
- PostScript Fonts: In Native Format
Device Options: NO CHANGES REQUIRED, Leave AS IS
PostScript: PostScript Output Format:
- PostScript (Optimize for portability - ADSC)
- PostScript Header:
  - Download Headers with each job
  - CHECK Print PostScript error information
- Advanced:
- - CHECK Use PostScript Level 1 features
  - CHECK Compress bitmap images
  - CHECK ASCII data
  - CHECK Send CTRL+D after job

Use only TrueType or Adobe Type 1 (ATM) fonts!
Slide setup should be 35mm (11"x7.34") or OVERHEAD (10"x7½"). In some applications such as Harvard Graphics, you do not have the ability to adjust page size. In this case you must adjust the margins within the application as follows:

  (NOTE: 8.5" minus .58 minus .58 = 7.34")
```
After completing your presentaion, select FILE-PRINT, select the QMS Printer and PRINT your IMAGES. If you have setup your printer driver correctly, you will be asked for a filename, enter drive:\path\filename.prn.
WARNING: DO NOT check the "Print to File" CHECK BOX in the print dialogue box. If you setup your printer driver properly within the control panel, you will be asked for a filename as soon as you click OK.
We recommend that you DO NOT include more than 40 images per file!
