The following information is provided for those who would like to save money
by avoiding file conversion charges. If you do not wish to install a PostScript
Driver as described, you may send your original application file for conversion.
We currently support the following applications on both IBM PC and MAC platforms:
ADOBE: Illustrator, Pagemaker, Photoshop
COREL: Draw, PhotoPaint, Presentations
Macromedia Freehand
Microsoft PowerPoint and
Quark Express
Defining the correct aspect ratio:
We will confine our discussions to MAC System 7 and above and IBM Windows 95
and above. For other operating systems please call us for details. Adjust your
PAGE SIZE for the final output.
For 35mm slides we recommend using a page size of 7.33" x 11"*
For Vugraphs/Overheads we recommend using a page size of 7.5" x 10"*
*Some applications such as PowerPoint, Corel Draw and Corel Presentations have page sizes already defined for 35mm and Overheads. When an application has a page size defined for your output, use it.
First you MUST install a PostScript printer driver (supplied with your
operating system) as described in
PostScript® Files from Macintosh® or PostScript®
Files from IBM® Compatibles.
For applications that do not offer your output page size:
After installing the printer drivers you will adjust the margins within
your application to obtain a page size of 7.33x11 (for 35mm Slides).
Do not confuse this instruction with the margin settings of zero inside the
printer driver.
Example: Beginning with your page size set to LETTER ( LANDSCAPE 8.5 x 11), set the margins to 0.00 left and right and .58" top and bottom. Why? If you subtract .58" from the top and .58" from the bottom of an 8.5" page you end up with 7.34". If you subtract 0" from the left and right of 11" you have a page size of 7.34" x 11" (close enough to our 7.33" x 11" target).
